WHO I AM

I'm a retired EFL teacher living and working from home in the greater Lisbon area, Portugal.

I'm a credited teacher trainer in different areas, among them Web 2.0 tools and Innovation in Education. I'm also the very proud recipient of the EU international e-Learning Awards 2007, Gold Prize in the category of "School of the Future", with the curricular blog CALL 2005-2007 (http://call05.wordpress.com/).

I carry out teacher training workshops both online and f2f. I'm a co-founder of the exclusively online worshop, Becoming a Webhead (http://baw2013.pbworks.com/), celebrating its 10th Anniversary at the time of writing (Jan-Feb 2013). This workshop is sponsored by the CALL-IS of TESOL International Association (http://www.tesol.org/). I've also co-taught the 4-week online course, Teaching Vocabulary and Grammar Online, a module of TESOL's Principles and Practices of Online Teaching Certificate Program.

I present at conferences in Portugal and abroad. I'll be presenting about my latest project, the e-book and its content, at the APPI 2013 Conference in Lisbon, Portugal (Apr. 25-27).

WHO WE ARE

Radical English is "a group of experienced EFL/ESL teachers based in Canada, Hungary, Portugal, Spain, the UK and the USA... who found each other online drawn together by the following post: 'it’s time to take a radically different approach to teaching and learning English'...

From having perceived ourselves as lone voices, we now realise that we are at the crest of a wave of people worldwide who share our frustration at the limitations of current methodology." (quoted from Radical English: http://radicalenglish.com/)

These are the eight members of this alliance.
